S4L
News
The cold weather has definitely descended and everyone seems to be spending a lot more time at home and indoors.  I know many of the girls on the forum have been giving their scrap spaces a good work out lately, and what better time to do it then when the days are short and the nights long and cold.  We have plenty of terrific specials in the shop to help boost your scrap stash and hopefully a few new goodies will help get that scrapper's mojo flowing.
I am still in the process of trying to co-ordinate another retreat for early October.  Please drop me a line if you are interested in attending, or stop by the forum and visit the retreats thread where you will find more information.

Design
Team
Corner

Linda has used this month's Design Team scrap pack to create this wonderful page of the gentlemen in her life having fun together at the park.
Notice how she has layered the main photo by punching and cutting out sections from a second print and adhering them on top of the first with
foam tape.  She then built the title up with paint, ink, and some strategic doodling!

Kelly has created this wonderful pocket money tin using the July Design Team scrap pack.

A little tag hangs off the handle of the tin along with some ribbon and string for embellishment.

These beautiful cards were all created using the monthly Design Team scrap pack.  Toni has heavily distressed the edges of some of the patterned
papers to give a beautiful textured effect.  This technique is also great on layouts when you're trying to achieve a weathered or antique look.

Take a mini class with our Design Team member

1.  Cut a piece of green cardstock to measure 8.5" x 11" and ink the edges with red ink.
2.  Cut a piece of the patterned paper to measure 7¼" x 8¼".  Sand the edges, and tear one of the short edges.
3.  Cut another piece of the same patterned paper to measure ½" x 7". Tear one of the short sides.
4.  Hand cut a design element from your patterned paper.  I used a Christmas tree.
5.  Sand the edges of your photos.
6.  Glue the 7¼" x 8¼" piece of patterned paper on to the cardstock,
½" from the top and 1" from the left hand edge with the torn edge on the right hand side.
Glue the photos 1/2" from the left hand edge of the pattern paper, and 3/4" from the top of the pp. The photos will go off the right edge of the pp and onto the cs.
Glue the strip of holly pp at the top of the photos, flush with the top of the photos and the left hand edge. Cut a piece of red ribbon and glue this along the top of the photo, overlapping the piece of holly pp.
Ink 3 chipboard stars with red ink and glue them to the top right hand corner of the photos.
Using pop dots to give the xmas tree dimension, glue it to the bottom right corner of the photos on an angle.
Using the letter stickers, put your title to the left of the xmas tree. Journal around the edge of the left photo.

Toni will soon be organising our bi-monthly cyber crop!  There's no need to sign up or register, simply print out the challenges and get scrapping!  Layouts, or links to your layouts must be posted in the forum by midnight on the Monday following the crop.
